FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A Flexible Spending Account ("FSA") is an employer-sponsored health benefit. If your employer offers an FSA, you can elect to have a certain amount of pre-tax money set aside for eligible medical expenses. The Internal Revenue Service places a limit on the amount of money that you can place in an FSA account every year. You can use FSA dollars to pay your coinsurance, copays and exams, as well as over-the-counter items like medicines, bandages and at-home blood pressure monitors.
To use your FSA, you must first pay for your medical expense out of pocket, then receive a reimbursement from your employer's designated claims processor via paper check or direct deposit. Typically, you must submit a reimbursement request (either online or by mail) that includes an itemized receipt of your medical expense prior to reimbursement. Check the description of your employer's FSA plan for additional details.
Many of our products are FSA-eligible and available for purchase on OmronHealthcare.com. For ease of purchase, only items that do not require a prescription from your doctor are included in our catalog of FSA-eligible products. Please check with your FSA provider to verify that items designated as FSA-eligible are also eligible for reimbursement.
OmronHealthcare.com currently does not accept FSA cards as a method of payment. Please use one of our accepted methods of payment (Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, American Express®, EuroCard, Diner's Club®, Paypal® and JCB, as well as check cards and ATM cards if they are issued by one of these major credit card companies as long as they have US billing addresses) to pay for your order with FSA-eligible products, then submit your order receipt to your plan provider for reimbursement.
Your employer determines the length of time you have to use your Flexible Spending Account. However, your FSA plan may include a carryover feature – where you can carry over a specific dollar amount of unused funds into the next plan year - or grace period extension feature – where you receive extra time to incur eligible expenses after your plan year ends.
For additional information about your FSA, please contact your employer. You can also read more at https://www.healthcare.gov/have-job-based-coverage/flexible-spending-accounts/.
*The devices listed on this page are FSA-eligible, but please check with your FSA provider to confirm their eligibility in your plan.
