Product Reviews

Omron Alvita Pedometer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only good for tracking walks If you want a device to track your walks, then this device may work for you but if you want a device that tracks activity, this isn't the device you want. My Mom wore it while working around the house for several hours and the device recorded 0 steps. Apparently, that is by design. Here is what the manual says: "NOTE: In order to avoid counting steps that are not part of a walk, the unit does not display the step count for the first 4 seconds of walking. If you continue walking for more than 4 seconds, it displays the step count for the first 4 seconds and then continues to count. The unit may not count steps correctly in the following conditions: 1. The unit moves irregularly. • When the unit is placed in a bag and a bag moves irregularly. • When the unit swings from your belt, the top of your pants or a bag. 2. Walking at an inconsistent pace. • When you shuffle or wear sandals. • Starting and stopping or other forms of inconsistent walking. 3. Up and down movement. • Standing up and/or sitting down movement. • Playing sports other than walking. • Ascending or descending movement on stairs or on a steep slope. 4. Vibrations from a moving vehicle. • Such as riding a bicycle, automobile, train or bus. 5. Walking extremely slowly." (End of manual quote) It seems that the device is designed to filter out activities that are not a walk. That may be what you want and. if so, this device may be perfect for you. If I was rating this device as an activity tracker, I'd give it one star but as a device for only tracking walks, it may be five stars, but we were looking for an activity tracker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needed More Info Before Ordering When it arrived at my home, this pedometer gave me to feeling that it was a very good quality instrument. But, when I read the operating instructions, I was disappointed (as was a previous reviewer) that it would not work for use in daily life. The pedometer has a waiting period after walking has started before it begins to count, and it's count depends on the user taking regular steps. So, it was not going to work for me to track my every day steps as I do not take long walks. So I decided to send it back to Omron. Now, I was pleasantly surprised. They immediately, with no complaint, refunded the money when they received the pedometer I sent back. Because the product seemed like it was good quality and because I received good customer service, I will look to Omron if I need any of their type of products in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, accurate, convenient I was given the first one and have since bought more as presents. This solid state pedometer easily fits in my jeans pocket and tracks steps. I rounded up all the old mechanical 'give away' pedometers and threw them out. Steps is fine for me and I did not mind that after two hours of chopping wood it had added few if any steps. But my muscles told me later and I did not need the meter for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love THIS one! I had been searching for a simple, easy to use pedometer and FINALLY found this one. Using it is very intuitive and it keeps track of all my steps. It has encouraged me to get more walking in and that is the bottom line for me. I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My husband bought two pedometers last month and gave me one. It encourages me to be more active and I enjoy comparing how many steps I take daily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from size I received the HJ-320 about a week ago, which I take with me every day. Like the 6 day log. My average daily mileage is 3.5 to 4.5
